Standards Committee Profile



Mission/ Vision:
The GRAPA Standards Committee is a group of revenue assurance professionals who invest their time in the review, development, publication and ratification of the GRAPA standards. The goal of this committee is to ensure that the GRAPA standards represent the latest, and most accurate description of the professional practice of revenue assurance in Telco’s today, based upon the principles of:

  • REPRESENTATION: Making sure that a representative sample of all major categories of carrier, line of business, product/service, size of company and subscriber base) participate in the process.
  • INCLUSION: Assuring that the standard represent and allow for the typical variances that these differences will necessarily require.
  • CONSENSUS: Getting as many people as possible involved in and agreeing to the standards
  • NTEGRITY: Ensuring the highest standards of honesty, reliability and professional dependability
  • RATIONALIZATION : Making sure that all of these standards focus on the reinforcement of our primary objective, which is the maximization of profit and minimization of revenue loss for the carrier.

The GRAPA Standards Committee is responsible for the ongoing review and update of the GRAPA standards and will assure that each year, a new revised set of standards will be published, reflecting the dynamic changes in our industry and profession.

Method and Approach:
The GRAPA Standards Committee uses several techniques in order to accomplish its main objectives these include:

Generation of BENCHMARK Surveys, develop to poll the membership on current standards and practices in different areas.

Sponsorship of regional and global “TownHall” meetings, developed to give the membership the opportunity to review and participate in discussions online and in real-time. Discussion BLOGS and other online forums.

Deliverables/Goals/Timelines:
The Goal of this committee is to publish an annual upgrade to the standards, assuring their continued timeliness, accuracy and usefulness.

Project Status:
Fully ratified standards published in January of 2009. New committees forming for the 2011 standards effort. (2/15/11)
